The Power of Prevention

Center for Dental Excellence East Lake

General Dentistry

One of the most important aspects of good oral health is taking preventive measures to address potential problems before they have the opportunity to become serious. Doing so will help you to avoid having to undergo more extensive or invasive procedures later on. The general dentistry team at the Center for Dental Excellence; East Lake is focused on providing a comprehensive range of preventive dental services for the entire family. No matter your age, our doctors believe that you deserve a beautiful, healthy smile, and will do whatever they can to help you achieve it. If you are looking for a dental team who can treat your whole family for life, contact our office today.

Family Dentistry

If you have children, it is important to teach them early on the importance of regular dental care. We generally suggest that your child see us for the first time by the time they are 3 or 4. Exposing them to routine dental appointments early in life can also help them to avoid developing dental anxiety. We treat our young patients with the utmost care, kindness, and consideration, and make them feel comfortable and at-ease while at our office.

As we age, our teeth need a little more professional attention. Many people do not seek the dental care they need because they are embarrassed by the condition of their mouths. It is important to us that our patients feel comfortable coming to us with their dental problems; we never judge people on their pasts, but rather work with them toward improving their futures. We want you to have the chance to revive your smile and make it last a lifetime.

Cleaning & Prevention

Basic, routine cleaning plays an essential role in keeping your mouth, teeth, and gums healthy. Good hygiene begins at home, where it is important to brush at least twice a day and floss regularly. Implementing a fluoride rinse into your routine or even an at-home whitening treatment can help you keep your teeth looking great and feeling healthy. Visiting one of our hygienists on individualized recommended intervals will give us a chance to assess the condition of your teeth and gums and make sure there are no developing problems. These appointments also give our hygienists a chance to clean the areas often missed during patient’s daily home care.

Non-Surgical TMJ Treatment

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ), Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) or Occlusomuscular Disorder (OMD) affects millions of Americans and can cause severe, chronic pain, jawbone deterioration, and many other dental health conditions. If you suffer from TMD, Dr. Christ and Dr. Nowicki provide non-surgical treatment at their East Lake office as part of their general dental service. One of the most popular treatments involves the creation of a custom-fit night guard that protects your teeth if you grind or clench your teeth at night. Such habits can be detrimental to the enamel of your teeth and cause pain in your head, neck, shoulders, and jaw.
